Abstract

In this text are evaluated the adaptations of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC) in the curricular references of three states in the Brazilian Northeast, Maranhão (MA), Ceará (CE) and Rio Grande do Norte (RN), focusing on the Religious Education component. It is an exercise in sociology of curriculum that seeks to consider the most recent discussions in curriculum theory, without losing sight of the specificities of the component in question. They end up making the criticism a little less severe than others already made about the BNCC. However, the exercise leads to a question about the clarity regarding who are the people who define what should be taught in Religious Education classes and how. It also identifies reiterations, expansions and additions that are significant in the curriculum and foster learning opportunities, but that were written without much specificity for each selected state, so that they could be contributions from any other.
