Abstract

Religious Education is a curricular component that has been present in Brazilian scholar curricula for 200 years. It was only with the Brazilian Common Curricular Base (BNCC) this component began to have a national curricular basis that gave it a perception and educational episteme to be followed by the Brazilian federative states. This article aims to carry out a critical-interpretative reading of the curricular references of Religious Education in three northeastern Brazilian states: Alagoas, Bahia and Sergipe, implemented after the approval of the BNCC (2017). In this way, it is possible to understand the advances, gaps and challenges still locally and nationally imposed in the full implementation of the pedagogical project proposed by the BNCC.
