Abstract

It is the responsibility of the States to develop and implement the curricular proposal in light of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC). Specifically regarding religious education, the curricula of the States of the Central-West region of Brazil present a plurality of understanding and divergent strategies, to the point of total exclusion of the area of knowledge and the curricular component of religious education. This article aims to highlight the variations between the state curricula of the Central-West region of Brazil and the BNCC. The methodology used is the hermeneutics of the curricula developed and implemented by the States of the Central-West region (Goiás, Mato Grosso, Mato Grosso do Sul and the Federal District), in line with the BNCC proposal. It is concluded that the curricula of the States analyzed reveal differences in the understanding of the object of study of Religious Education, and in the epistemological reference of the Science(s) of Religion(s) proposed by the BNCC for religious education.
