Abstract

To fulfill the purposes of Secondary Education, it is proposed that educational institutions of a confessional nature, in the process of deepening and establishing their own identity, continue with the Religious Education curricular component, contributing to the integral education of students. From the area of Applied Human and Social Sciences, a cognitive field dedicated to the studies of human existence and interventions on life is constituted, problematizing social relations, the knowledge produced, the contribution to cultures and their norms, developing the study of issues linked to the religious phenomenon that directly impact the daily lives of societies. For high school students, religious knowledge should encourage the construction of healthy relationships, respect and dignity for others.
