What was once just an abstraction, one of the most hopeful, of one day becoming popular in Brazilian society, today we undeniably live in the time of empowerment of evangelical representation as the fastest growing religion in the country. From public spaces – such as the well-known and publicized march for Jesus, held for years on the traditional Avenida Paulista – to typically specific spaces consecrated as churches for huge concentrations of people, as well as the expressive evangelical group of federal deputies, we are witnessing large and noticeable social changes in our country. From religious fundamentalism to the advent of polarization between progressives and the extreme right, we are currently experiencing a melting pot of culture that can no longer be ignored by the official press, academia and politics. In this article we will address this subject under the premise of politics, theology and human sciences.Downloads
