Abstract

This article discusses the limited information available about Charles Fox Parham, a prominent figure in the early days of Pentecostalism. In Brazilian academic discourse, Parham is often condensed into a single paragraph, despite his significant role in the growth of Pentecostalism. The study highlights the challenges in finding comprehensive information about Parham. The gap is evident in both popular perceptions and academic research. Searches in academic databases yielded few relevant results, and there is a lack of precise terminology for Parham in these databases. Therefore, this study aims to explore the controversies surrounding Parham's life, including allegations of homosexuality, racism, and heterodox teachings, in order to provide a more comprehensive understanding of his biography and theology, thus contributing to a deeper understanding of Pentecostal theology.
