The pandemic brought by the spread of COVID-19 has become a major challenge for the entire society, and it would be no different for religion. Within this scope, this article focuses on how the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church, through its official website (www.adventistas.org) built a narrative about the current scenario, providing subsidies for its members to be linked to the movement, even at a time of social distancing and many other obstacles to hold services and liturgies. From this corpus, 156 news published on the portal were selected, which were cataloged and analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The beginning of the research took place in March 2020 and it was decided to exclude the posts from November 20th, 2020, when the discussions about vaccines intensified, which become more politicized and less religious. The results found corroborate the theory held about the need for religious movements to be prepared to, in moments of rupture in collective memory, give their members a certain notion of perpetuity. And that’s exactly what Adventism did, through social actions and motivational messages.Downloads
